I couldn’t expect to have such a great and profitable experience. My job training was very helpful to accumulate new skills and to have a real viewpoint of a future occupation.

I completed a 3-month intensive language course, which greatly improved my Chinese language capability. I appreciate the opportunity to have experienced the Chinese culture first-hand, as well as, the opportunity to make lifelong friendships with my classmates, teachers and the staff. Hutong School provided me with a safe and comfortable residence in which to stay. The staff was always willing and happy to help me with anything that I needed.

I didn’t have any idea what to do after I graduated. So I focus myself in my business in México when I decided to start a new experience in China. Located in the heart of the beautiful French Concession, Hutong School offered me the experience of a lifetime. The teachers, staff and students were absolutely amazing and I still keep in contact with many of them. I participated in the Intensive Chinese Program and because of my wonderful teacher I went from absolute beginner to intermediate level Chinese in just 5 months!

The staff at Hutong School were incredibly helpful and flexible in organizing my study schedule. I took some one-on-one classes as well as the group lessons and thoroughly enjoyed all of them. I had studied Chinese on my own for about a year before I went to Hutong School. What separates Hutong School from all the other schools is the staff: everyone is nice, welcoming and engaged. The classes are very involved, and the group environment serves well for practicing speaking. After a few months, I was speaking Chinese well enough to be hired in a full time management position in Shanghai.

I particularly appreciated the dedication and patience of the teachers (I’m more than 70 years old, it was not so easy to get vocabulary, grammar and pronunciation into my old brain) and the time the administratives spent to help us for accommodation, planning, etc. Hutong School “boosted” me to pass HSK 3 at 74 years old!

There is a level of comfort and amiable atmosphere at Hutong School that is very contagious. Only four months in Shanghai and I have made incredible friends, learned more about myself as a person than I ever could in my own country, and I never thought I would enjoy studying Chinese Mandarin this much.
