Last month we had to say goodbye to one of our long term students, Wieteke Erkens. She first came to the Hutong School in September 2008 and stayed for 3 months. Like many students she fell in love with Beijing and in 2010 she decided to come back to study Chinese with us again.
Wieteke wrote a small goodbye letter to our staff as well:
Dear hutongschool staff!
I just wanna thank you (again!) for an amazing stay in Beijing. You guys are great. From a little chat during our break, to really big favors, you were always there for me.
Thanks for all the help the past year; housing, visa, planning trips, buying things and so much more. Not to forget about the most important thing of course, teaching me Chinese ;-). You make Hutong School what it is! If there is ever an opportunity, I will be back!

我只要说谢谢你们。我一年住在北京，真了不起！你们真很棒！
休息的时候聊天儿，可是也如果我有问题，你们总是帮助我。谢谢所有的不一样的事儿；找房子，签证，打算旅行，买东西，然后更多事儿。然后谢谢教我中文。你们是胡同学校的最重要的人。如果我有机会，我回来！
