The safety of our students is and always will be our utmost concern. And as the Covid-19 situation unfolds, this is now more important than ever. We understand that the constantly changing government advice, increasing number of border closures and widespread lockdowns, might mean that even if you plan to join us in China over the coming months, you may be reluctant to make a financial commitment at this time.

But with us, you don’t need to worry.

Our Booking Policy

To ensure your protection and support your decisions during these times of rapid change, we have revised our Terms and Conditions to offer fully flexible booking terms and a full money back guarantee on all our in-China programs. Put simply, you will be entitled to cancel or change any bookings made or due to take place from 17th March, free of charge.

Refunds

Should you decide to cancel, or Hutong School cannot deliver your program due to the Covid-19 situation, you will be entitled to a full refund of the total amount paid excluding the deposit. Although the deposit is non-refundable, you will be able to use your deposit towards a future program or in exchange for online classes.

If you decide to cancel your program and your Invitation Letter has already been issued, please note that you must return the letter to us and cover the postage cost. If you are unable to return the letter to us, you will be charged 5000 HKD.

This is applicable only to programs that have not already begun. If your program has already started and has been affected, please contact your Program Consultant to discuss your options.

Please also note that if your cancellation is due to reasons other than Covid-19, our normal terms and conditions will apply - /terms-and-conditions

Flexible Booking

Should you decide to keep your booking but would prefer to postpone or change the dates before it begins, you will be able to do so at no extra charge.

If you wish to postpone or change the dates of a program that has already begun and includes accommodation, please be aware that we will need to deduct 3 months from the total duration booked to cover the cost we incur. The remaining months can be used at a later date with no extra fee.

This policy applies to programs that have already begun and are affected and those that are due to take place soon.

Current Measures in China

As you may be aware, the Chinese government is implementing strict quarantine rules across the country for international arrivals. No matter where you are traveling from and where you have been within the 14 days prior to arrival, you may be required to undergo a 14-day isolation period in either an approved hotel, or an apartment. Where you must quarantine depends on various factors, including where you are traveling from.

While we can’t prevent this from happening, if you are required to quarantine in a hotel, Hutong School will help make this as smooth, enjoyable and productive as possible by providing online Chinese lessons and support. Feel free to get in touch for more information on the support we offer.

The rules surrounding this policy are changing faster than we can update this page. If you are traveling to China in the coming weeks, we advise you check with your Program Consultant or https://china.ahk.de/coronavirus-updates for regularly updated information.

Wherever you are and whatever you plan to do, we hope that you are staying safe and positive. Keep studying with our app, and we’ll be here waiting to welcome you to one of our China locations soon.

From all of us at Hutong School, 加油!
