I got in after 10 pm last night because of a plane problem in Chicago. I was planning on getting Chinese money at the Beijing airport but it was too late. So I can't get breakfast out. Fortunately I have some travel snacks and tea. I will be able exchange some currency later today.
Surprisingly, the guy sitting across the aisle on the plane, Renaldo from Vnezuela, is also taking Chinese classes at the Hutong School and is one of my roomates in the apartment. His 40-hour travel time from Venezuela tops my 22-hour time. It took about a half-hour to get from Beijing airport to the apartment.
I've been up since about 5:30 am Beijing time (at 9 am my roomies are still adjusting). I took a 2-mile stroll over to and along a main street. I passed by several Beijing breakfast street vendors and shops. If I'd only had some money.
I will post some pictures as soon as I figure out how. Note: Dates are formatted DD/MM/YYYY.
Today is a Holiday here, so no classes. There will be a new student meet & greet this afternoon at the school. Classes start tomorrow.
